Expressing your world from the heart

The Idea

What if your heart could express your emotions even when your words cannot?

The Why

For those with verbal impairments such as Autism, Alzheimers, traumatic brain injuries and developmental disabilities - communicating emotions is a major challenge that contributes to lack of relational bonding, inefficacy of care interventions and decreased social engagement.

The Team

It all began in Mexico at HATCH Experience Alumni Retreat!

After Alan Macy presented his math model that maps heart metrics to emotional states Amber Caldwell asked the question, could it also communicate the emotional state?

The idea that a device could in real time communicate the emotional state of an individual who is unable to do so is a game changer for those with autism - a population near and dear to both Amber and Latham Turner.

Alan’s experience combined with Ian Bernstein’s expertise design in robotic technology proved to be the perfect combination to spark the team.

To top off the magic - Printz Board shared his soon to be released song “Kaleidoscope” - how you can experience the world through different lenses. This is such a beautiful way to express the challenge we are trying to solve and bonus a perfect name!

HATCH is about re-imagining a better world and mykaleidoscope is the crazy idea that the world can reimagine understanding emotions for those who are unable to express them.
